Wingnut Voters Are Still Turned On By Trump’s Politics Of Insult And Division
A new CNN poll has Trump soaring to his highest numbers yet, as wingnut
voters continue to embrace his politics of division and derision. …
A CNN/ORC poll released on September 10th, shows Trump soaring to
new heights in the Republican pretender race. The poll, conducted
from September 4-8, found Trump gaining 8 percentage points since
August. Trump now leads the Republican cabal field with 32 percent support, followed
by Carson at 19 percent and Jeb at just 9 percent support.
Trump’s growing popularity was made possible by huge
surges in support from college educated Republicans and from female Republican cabal
voters. His campaign built on racist rhetoric and ridiculing others is
now not only appealing to male voters and the uneducated, but it is
increasingly capturing the hearts and minds of educated Republicans and
female Republican cabal voters as well.
In the August poll, Trump had the support of 16 percent of college graduates. In the September poll that number had risen to 28 percent. His standing with female voters rose from 20 percent to 33 percent over the same one month time period.
With Trump essentially winning across
every significant Republican demographic, pundits are dumbfounded in
trying to explain his popularity. None dare point out the obvious.
Republican voters, by and large, support Trump’s loud mouthed
bigotry and his unapologetic sexism. As unflattering as that conclusion
may be, it is clearly demonstrated by Republican cabal voters continuing to flock to
Trump as their first choice for pretender.
Trump’s latest controversial comments where he
blatantly ridiculed Fiorina’s physical appearance are being
rightfully criticized by journalists and fellow Republican cabal candidates alike.
However, it is not likely to cost him votes. Since Trump’s insinuation
that Megyn Kelly asked him tough questions because she was menstruating,
helped him rise in the polls after the first Republican cabal 'debate', there is
little reason to suspect he will suffer any fallout for him comments
about Fiorina’s face. Mean-spirited Republican cabal voters after all, seem more
interested in egging Trump on, than in penalizing him for his crude
sexist remarks.
As long as Republican voters continue to reward
Trump for being an obnoxious bully, he has no reason to stop hurling
insults and zero incentive to dial down his inflammatory rhetoric.
Journalists can criticize Trump all they want, but he is a symptom
rather than the cause of the problem. He continues to perform well in
the Republican polls, because Republican voters, male and female,
educated and uneducated, seem to share his arrogant, simplistic and
bigoted world view.

A new CNN/ORC poll summed up why many
non-Republicans think that the Republican cabal has gone insane. Close
to half of all Republicans, and 54% percent of Trump supporters
still believe that President Obama is a muslim.
Among all adults, 39% say they believe Obama is a protestant or other christian, 4% think he’s catholic, 2% mormon, 1% jewish and 1% something else. Another 11% say he’s not religious, and
14% that they just don’t know. There’s a wide education gap here, with
most college grads believing Obama is a protestant (63%) compared with
just 28% of those who do not have college degrees.
The partisan divide is nearly as large,
with 61% of Democrats saying Obama is a protestant, vs. 32% of
independents and 28% of Republicans. But the 43% of Republicans and 54%
of Trump supporters who say they believe Obama is a muslim is a smaller
share than in other recent polling which asked only whether Obama is a christian or a muslim.
When the argument from the pollster is, “Republicans aren’t quite as crazy as we first thought,” things are bad.
It has been seven years, and almost half of the
Republican cabal still refuses to believe that President Obama is a christian. The Republican answer to this question is why most Americans
who aren’t Republicans think the Republican cabal is insane. The rest of the country
gets that Obama is a christian, but many Republicans refuse to embrace
reality and join the rest of us.
It is also not a coincidence that the majority of
the residents of Republican crazy town support Trump. The
mainstream media talking point to describe the rise Trump and Carson is
that Republicans don’t want experienced politicians as candidates.
No. A sizable number of Republican voters are bat
shit crazy. That’s the real explanation for what is going on. The
Republican refusal to join reality in reflected in their polling. Trump
and Carson represent the strain of insanity that has taken over the
Republican cabal.
The media needs to stop treating Republicans like
sane people, and instead accept that the lunatics are running the
Republican asylum.
Government Shutdown Looms As House “Freedom Caucus” Ignores Boehner and Obeys Cruz
The Republican war on woman reached a new low with
House Republicans led by government shutdown ringleader Cruz
threatening to shut down the government unless Planned Parenthood is
defunded.
The prospect of a shutdown increases
each day as Boehner continues to prove as incapable of leading his
caucus as he was the last time Republican extremists engineered a
government shutdown.
In 2013, Cruz led off the rails ideologues
forcing a shutdown because Cruz and his followers don’t believe the
government should pay its bills. This time, they are holding the
government hostage in an effort to destroy women’s access to healthcare.
It’s the war on women all over again – this time in an effort to
destroy the country’s biggest reproductive healthcare provider.
The common element in both cases is we have
ideologues pushing a government shutdown over a policy objective that
will never pass. Even if the House tries to defund Planned Parenthood,
there is zero chance of success. The Senate won’t pass it and President
Obama will veto any budget that attempts to defund it. Still Cruz and
his followers march on pandering to evangelical lunatics and, perhaps, garnering
some free publicity for Cruz’s failing pretender campaign.
Combine Cruz’s lust for publicity to breath air into
his campaign and Boehner’s incompetence as Speaker, and it means
the House doesn’t have enough votes to pass a budget that has funding
for Planned Parenthood in it.
The Orwellian sounding “Freedom Caucus” is another player behind Cruz and his attempt to defund Planned Parenthood’s
reproductive health services by way of threatening a government
shutdown. Led by Jim Jordan (R-OH), The “Freedom Caucus” is also behind
efforts to remove Boehner as Speaker. So the fact that they ignore Boehner and obey Cruz comes as no surprise.
They’re milking a severely edited propaganda video for all its worth. The video was produced by David Daleiden,
a Republican cabal hack, who probably learned his Goebbels level
propaganda techniques from fellow video fraudster and friend, James O’Keefe.
Because of the editing involved, it appeared that Planned Parenthood
was selling “baby parts” for profit – an illegal practice. Facts never
matter when you are waging war on women’s health and using the
increasing prospect of a government shutdown to make it happen.
As noted by the Boston Globe, the unedited version of this video makes crystal clear,
There is nothing illegal about what some Planned Parenthood facilities do: provide fetal organs, donated by consenting patients, to medical researchers, while charging a nominal fee that covers the cost of storage and delivery.
Once again, there is nothing illegal about this.
Planned Parenthood is not selling “baby parts” nor is it making a profit
from the legal practice of providing fetal organs, donated by
consenting patients.
Despite the facts, House Judiciary Chair. Bob
Goodlatte, said he won’t vote for a budget that includes funding for
Planned Parenthood even if it means a government shutdown. During an
interview with The Hill, Goodlatte admitted that he is a “long-time opponent of funding for Planned Parenthood.” In other words the doctored Daleiden video is a ruse that Goodlatte latched on to in the name of defunding the largest provider of reproductive health services.
Planned Parenthood receives government funding under
Title X, a program that provides low income women with access to family
planning services, excluding abortion. The funds it receives under
Medicaid allows payment for abortion subject to Hyde Amendment
restrictions. In other words, Planned Parenthood is already complying
with the same restrictions that apply to any healthcare provider that
receives Medicaid payments.
When you consider that 97% of Planned Parenthood
provided services are cancer screenings, contraception and tests and
treatment of sexually transmitted services, the fact is Republicans are
waging war on reproductive health services for women, especially women
living on low incomes. These are services that save lives and reduce
healthcare costs. Take them away and lives will be lost and healthcare
costs will increase. Cruz and his off the rails ideologues in the House
are willing to shut the government down in the name of holding women’s
health hostage.
Cruz is one of the 3 Republican pretender
candidates on record to support defunding Planned Parenthood. Paul
and Huckabee are the others. Cruz also held “shutdown strategy talks” with Congressional wingnuts a few days ago.
This time, off the rails ideologues are holding the
U.S. government at gunpoint in the name of taking cancer screenings,
birth control and treatment for STD’s away from women. The war on women
continues.

The Wisconsin idiot gave his surprise one week’s cancellation notice,
because he instead plans to spend the weekend in Iowa and South
Carolina, two early primary states where he is lagging badly in the
polls.
Walker, who was considered the favorite to win Iowa as recently as July, has plummeted to 10th place in the state according to a recent Quinnipiac Poll, where he managed a meager 3 percent of the Republican cabal vote. He isn’t doing any better in South Carolina, where a recent PPP poll has him garnering just 3 percent of the Republican primary vote there.
The news of Walker’s speech cancellation was drowned
out by September 11th retrospectives and the departure of Texas' idiot Perry from the pretender race on Friday. However,
Walker’s plight is perhaps far more embarrassing than Perry’s, because
Walker, unlike Perry, was considered a legitimate contender for the
Republican nomination from the moment he entered the race.
Instead of catching fire, however, the
Koch brothers’ favorite candidate has tanked in the polls, putting
himself in the same general company as pathetic non-candidates like Graham and Santorum. As Walker has nose-dived, political
neophytes like Trump and Carson have taken the Republican
race by storm.
Walker is trying to carry the mantle of the political outsider who will “wreak havoc on Washington”,
but too many Republican voters now see him as a government insider who
has wreaked havoc on Wisconsin. Republican cabal voters are demanding the kind of
havoc Trump promises, not the watered down chaos offered by a man who
has spent the last 22 years holding government positions as an elected
politician.
While Walker hopes to reinvent himself and
revitalize his failing pretender campaign by cancelling his Anaheim
speaking gig, instead he merely reminds Republican donors and
strategists that his campaign is barely alive. Rather than strengthening
his image, this move is likely to backfire by highlighting the sorry
shape Walker’s campaign is in.
Donors and supporters might be ready to pull the
plug soon, to take Walker and his supporters out of their
political misery. Until they decide to do so, voters in South Carolina
and Iowa can look forward to a visit from Walker, where they
can bear witness to what a dying political campaign looks like when it
is trying desperately to still show signs of life.
Another Republican Lie Goes Down In Flames: Iran Won’t Be Self-Inspecting Nuclear Sites
Another Republican falsehood has been blown to
pieces as it has been confirmed that Iran will not be self-inspecting
their sensitive nuclear sites.
Here is what Boehner said on the House floor on Friday:
Was this agreement built on verification?No. It appears a side deal will trust Iran to self-inspect a key site where the regime conducted tests on nuclear detonators. Of course we haven’t seen that actual side deal, and we don’t know if there are any other secret components.
Boehner was not telling the truth.
Reuters reported:
United Nations inspectors will be present with
Iranian technicians as they take samples from a key military site, two
Western diplomats said, undercutting an objection by U.S. Republicans to
the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
The diplomats were familiar with details
of a confidential arrangement between Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog
for inspections at the Parchin site, where some countries suspect
nuclear weapons-related tests may have taken place.
Iran has denied that allegation, but agreed
to accept comprehensive International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
inspections of its suspect sites as part of the historic July deal in
exchange for an easing of international sanctions.
The Iran government will not be self-inspecting, but
this didn’t stop House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) from repeating the lie, “It relies on secret side
deals that the American people’s representatives were not allowed to
see. Inspections will no longer happen “anytime, anywhere.” Instead,
Iran can delay and will reportedly self-inspect its own nuclear sites.
Iranian officials have also declared military locations off-limits.”
The lie is dead, but Republicans are working day and
night to revive it. Without a bogus reason to oppose the deal, House
Republicans would be forced to admit the real source of their
opposition. The truth is that Republicans favor military intervention.
Republicans are under the false impression that they
will be able to win elections with their pro-war stance. This is it is
vitally important for Democrats to send this Republican lie home to die.
President Obama won the vote, but the battle for peace has just begun.
