How do you get a Republican pretender candidate to ignore you?
Talk about science.
The scientists from NASA — a bunch of nutjobs obviously only it for
all that grant money — who announced Wednesday global sea levels have
risen by three inches since 1992 can expect to be shunned by the Republican cabal. Two years ago, United Nation scientists projected global sea levels would rise between 1 and 3 feet by the end of this century. The figures reported Wednesday indicate the projection will be at the higher end of the range.
As one might expect, some areas saw bigger rises than others. The west coast of the United States actually had sea levels drop slightly, while other parts of the world saw rises as big as nine inches.
The scientists said low-lying areas such as Miami and Charleston, S.C., already see flooding during intense storms or high tides.
The causes of the increase are threefold: larger areas of warm ocean water, melting mountain glaciers, and melted ice from polar ice sheets.
NASA’s Tom Wagner said, “People need to understand that the planet is not only changing, it’s changed.”
The “people” Wagner refers to, would also include, one would presume, those who are running for president.
